Why yes, it has been about a month and a half since I last posted. I’m not sure where that time went. I certainly didn’t mean to go so long between posts.
It seems that summer got here and then magically we were transported to the end of July. Can you believe that? It’s already the END of July! Over half of the girls’ summer vacation is over and I feel like we don’t have much to show for it.
In all fairness, we spent the beginning of vacation still healing from Cassie’s surgery. Sure, it was her that was doing the actual healing but it was rough for everyone. Okay, rough on me. Then there was a week we spent in Missouri with my brother and sister-in-law over the Fourth of July. We’ve also gotten together with friends, held four rummage sales, had doctor appointments down in Milwaukee, done some organizing and cleaning out of things around the house, and playing in general. Instead of trying to explain it all, we are going to do a quick overview in picture form.
We visited the St Louis Zoo. The zoo is awesome. Lots of walking but isn’t that what zoos are about? Look at animals and get your exercise at the same time.
After the zoo and going back to rest for a while, we headed to the St Louis Arch.
If you look real close, you will see that Cassie and Kalli are by the corner of the leg of the Arch. They look so tiny!
And then we were at the top of the Arch. Well, not that fast, but we got there. I didn’t know how the girls would do, but they LOVED it. They could have and would have stayed up there forever if we would have let them. They are already talking about going again when we are there.
This entire summer has been such a blast. It is hard though to believe that there is only like one month left before the kiddos head back to school.
For August we have plans to gear up for school (starting to adjust bedtimes and wake-up times, work on subjects that give us the most trouble, work more on our forever lacking organization skills), spend some time camping, spend a bunch of days in the pool at my parents’, and enjoy our time together.
