Happily Ever After

Happily Ever After is a no-kill Animal Sanctuary in Marion, Wisconsin.  They are the only no-kill shelter in Northeast Wisconsin.  They take in dogs and cats no matter what the situation and give them a place to live.  They are cared for and forever homes are looked for.  For animals that are harder to place, there is no worry that they won’t be there the following week.  They will not be euthanized and are given that second chance at finding a home that may fit their circumstances.

If you would like to look at more about the shelter or animals that are up for adoption or sponsorship, follow the links below.

Today we walked dogs at Happily Ever After (HEA) again.  It feels like it has been so long since we have been there and I’m feeling a little guilty about it.  Guilt…it is something that I’ve mastered.

Andy walked a total of 8 dogs for a total of 4 miles.  I only walked 7 dogs for a total of 3.5 miles.  I sat out the last round.  No pictures to share, but wanted to let you know that we were out there and that later this month the girls and I will be going to their Halloween Event and caring for a dog that day.  We can dress the dog up if we want and we aide in telling about “our dog” in hopes of finding it a home.  Last year the dog we cared for found its forever home.  We are hoping for the same this year.

If you’d like to see the dogs that we’ve walked (And by we I mean Andy, Becky, and myself) take a look at the few that I was able to get descent pictures of.  Did you know that dogs don’t cooperate with photographers?

I’ve been trying to go help walk dogs every 3-4 weeks.  I’m hoping this summer to take the girls out there to help with socializing the well behaved dogs as well.  This is something that I believe in and am becoming more passionate about.  Hence the page and letting everyone know about the sanctuary.

I will add pictures as I am able to get them 🙂
